Sarah cuts the call off. It's been a long time since we have both been together. We have known each other both emotionally and physically.

One fact that I love about her is how vulnerable and open she is to me. Never in my life, I would ever imagine that I would find such a girl.

I have been the same but reality strikes me a few times when I realize that I have been hiding a secret from her.

Not on purpose, it's just how things have been. I don't want to hurt her, and neither am I involved in any of the activities I was before.

But I'm still somehow betraying myself by hiding the fact that I have an ex-wife. What if she never gets to know and we keep going the same way?

But…

What if she does get to know? Will she still love me the same way?

I know for sure that I can't risk anything that we have. Her love for me is so pure that even if I try I cannot hurt such a pure soul.

I think she needs to know. I want to tell her now.

This is unfair to her and our relationship. I cannot risk us for something that isn't even in my life anymore. And this is another chance for me to assure her that after her my life has been better in so many ways.

The door opens as I am sitting on the couch, I look up and it's Sarah. Her smile seems a little burnt out as she makes her way to me. I stand up and hug her as tightly as possible and she does the same.

Watching her in my arms, I know she deserves better and I am willing to be better for her. As I move back I say, “I want to talk to you about something. Can we?”

A little voice comes out as she sits on the couch, “Yes. I want to talk about something too.”

“Go on then.”

I ask her to let herself free first. She says no and insists I tell my side first so I continue to do so. Holding her head I sit down on my knees and kiss her on her forehead.

“I love you, Sarah, and I always will. I have been keeping something to myself for so long, not on purpose to be clear. It's just that I never got a chance and I don't think it's an important part of my life to be discussed. I know you might have a lot of thoughts while I say this to you, but just know that I am here telling you about this because what we have is precious, and I don't want to ruin it in any way.”

She looks at me as her face becomes pale. I know she is thinking a thousand different thoughts right now but I promise to make up for everything.

Out of nowhere, she stands up and goes towards our room. Saying at the lowest pitch of her voice, “give me a minute.
