CURIOUS ABOUT COMETS
Long ago, ancient astronomers noticed something curious. Shiny new lights sometimes lit up the evening sky. But these lights did not behave like stars. They seemed to come out of nowhere. The objects moved slowly across the sky for a few days or weeks. Then, they disappeared just as quickly as they had appeared.
Astronomers described these objects as stars with tails. Others said they were flaming swords or fiery torches. What were these mysterious moving lights? They were comets!
