Super-Quick Chocolate Sponge Cake
This is a lovely chocolate sponge cake recipe. To make it extra decadent, you can use dark cocoa powder or add a liqueur of your choice for an extra kick.
The following quantities will make cakes approximately 7.5cm (3in) deep if they are baked in a single tin (pan). If you don’t have a baking tin 7.5cm (3in) deep, divide the mixture between 2 shallower (sandwich) tins at least 4cm (11⁄2in) deep. The mixture will fill about half of the prepared tin and will rise during baking.
