Shadow Play:

The blue team carries out attacking movements and finishes on the far goal. Eventually the coach can add defenders to make the exercise more challenging. I suggest starting with 3 defenders and building to a maximum of 7.

Exercise #6 - Two-Team Shadow Play:

The blue team is working the ball one direction as the red team is working the opposite direction. The objective is to have both teams carry out their attacking movements ending with a shot on goal. A unique variation would be to add 3-5 defenders into the two-team shadow play. This would require the two teams to be very focused and maintain excellent vision. If a defender steals the ball the attacking team would stop their attack until the other attacking team finished their attacking movement or had the ball stolen.
