Dancing with Quadree felt like heaven but the moment Jada showed up everything was ruined. To hear that he was still having sex with her hurt my feelings. Although I knew I had no right to feel some type of way I did. I tried to keep my distance from Quadree, but it was feelings there. I was used to his presence. I felt safe with him. I loved how he was with my son. I don’t know if our situation was right, but it felt right.

I could feel myself getting upset so I headed to the bathroom to get myself together. I applied some lip gloss and blotted my face before giving myself a little pep talk with words of affirmations. As I walked out, I bumped right into someone.

“Oh, excuse me,” I said as I looked up at the person. I immediately froze when I realized who it was. His presence made my skin crawl, and I hated the way he looked at me.

“Be careful, pretty. We wouldn’t want you to get hurt, now would we?” Tank said with an evil smirk on his face. He was so close to me that I could smell him.

Instead of responding I walked away but he grabbed me by the wrist stopping me dead in my tracks.

“I can’t wait to see you again. Drive safely tonight, we don’t want you getting into an accident.”

Snatching my wrist, I stormed away and went to find my son. It was starting to get late, and I was almost ready to go. When he said something about getting into an accident, I got a bad feeling. I immediately thought back to what happened with the accident the other day and I thought maybe he had something to do with it. I just didn’t understand why.

“Luna, let me talk to you,” I heard Quadree yelling but I kept walking to find my son. I just needed to get out of here. Between Jada and that creepy ass nigga Tank I wasn’t feeling it.

“It’s nothing to talk about Quadree,” I responded, not even turning to face him but he took two strides and was in front of me.

“Shorty, I don’t know what this is between us but I’m feeling you. I don’t want you upset over something that’s nothing. I ain’t fuck shorty since before you even got here, ma. I promise you that.”

“She took a bid for you, Quadree. It must be some type of love there. I can’t compete with the girl you love.”

“Love? What the fuck you talking about Luna? I don’t love Jada. I appreciate what she did, and I’ll always look out but it ain’t never been nothing more than just sex for me.”

“I can’t do this with you right now. I just need to go.”

“So, let’s get Kacey and go home. But I’m not going to let you go Luna. You mine shorty. It’s me you and Kacey fuck all that outside shit. I’m coming to you as a man and being real with you and telling you it’s nothing.
