Storm had been pondering his future as well as he could. What would he do now? After the reading of the will and the paperwork he would be left all alone with his parents’ sprawling mansion. The servants would still be there… but he would still be alone… alone in the house, alone in the world. In more recent years he’d begun to drift away from his friends: sometimes it was their doing, but mostly it was his due to his, falling into his own self-centered isolation. As much as he resented them and loathed their recent firmness, he had been closest to his parents. Beyond them he had no relationships, really. There were holes in his life that he was just starting to feel now.
