Davé opened the door to Kostas’s apartment when they were back.

Elias was grinning from ear to ear, despite the mask.

He barely recognized Kostas. The young man was wearing jeans, chukkas, and a crisp dark green polo. His hair was cut short, and Davé smelled a trace of cologne. If such things were possible within a few hours, Kostas somehow seemed more rugged, with a new air of confidence.

“I asked a girl out and she said yes!” He smiled. “Dude, Elias is the man, he’s like a Jedi master for girls.”

Elias shrugged. “Nonsense. You should have seen our boy, Davé. Kostas stepped up and got himself a date.”

“Good stuff! We will have your police letter, by tomorrow,” Davé said as he handed Kostas a small piece of paper. “This is an extra precaution. I got a numbered post office box in Heraklion, just in case, for protecting tips, and anonymous sources. Always call Elias first, then snail mail me anything you dig up.”

“Cool, thanks! …I’m gonna take a quick shower, hang my new clothes, and then get cracking with this new PC setup.”
