The colour drained from her face when I said it. I liked that.

I had tried for as long as I could to ignore the need inside me but it was too powerful. I had to have her and she’d given me the perfect excuse.

I’d watched her on the cameras as she filled in the form and then I saw her just wander about the bedroom before climbing onto the bed with a book in her hand, vanishing from sight. I gave her time, thinking she would show me the questionnaire but she didn’t. In the end, I went to her.

“Get on your knees,” I said, waiting as she decided whether to obey me. I wouldn’t give her long before pushing her down.

I didn’t need to. After a moment’s pause, she knelt, hands on her thighs, back straight, looking up at me.

“Head back,” I said, pulling the thin silver chain from my pocket. I attached the end of it to the ring at the front of her collar, moving until the chain was stretched, showing her what it was.

“Remember I said I was going to make your decisions for you?”

She nodded slowly.

“For a time, I am going to decide where you move. Observe.”

I tugged at the chain and her neck moved forwards, her body almost losing balance. “You need to follow me,” I added, taking a step backwards.

I thought she would stand but instead she began crawling on her hands and knees. The sight was intoxicating.

I led her out of the room and back into the Rose room. “In here, all is confidential,” I said as I came to a halt. “Nothing leaves these walls and it is in here that I will tell you the first step we will take together.”

“What is that?” she asked, still on all fours, looking surprisingly at ease. This was who she was supposed to be, not a single complaint about being led on a chain from one room to the next.

“Kneel,” I said, looping the chain around my wrist, drawing her closer. She knelt in place and as she did so, I unlocked the chain, slipping it back into my pocket. “You are doing well at obeying me but you forgot to hold up the questionnaire, didn’t you?”

“I’m sorry,” she said, her voice quiet, not meeting my eye. So quickly she had fallen into the role of submissive. It was impossible to ignore the need inside me any longer. The plans I had, they fell away. I had to have her.

“Stand up.”

She did and I crossed the space between us, standing close enough to feel her breath on my lips. She was breathing heavily, her chest heaving as I reached across and brushed a lock of hair away from her eyes. She looked back at me, blinking, wilting in my gaze.

I leaned forwards, sliding a hand around her back at the same time. Before she knew what was happening, I pressed my lips to hers. I only let it last for a second but it was long enough to be sure.
