Currently, several cloud platforms for the Internet of things are already implemented, including those adapted for the tasks of the industry. Such platforms are provided by Amazon (AWS IoT Cloud), Microsoft (Azure IoT Platform), Siemens (MindSphere), Google (Google IoT Core). In general, all of them provide the ability to connect devices of the Internet of things (sensors, robots, and computing devices) to the cloud storage of information, as well as set of built-in software services for data analysis. It should be noted that only AWS IoT Cloud provides possibility to create a digital twin of a device, called in the terms of the platform as “the device shadow”, which emulates the presence of the device in case of communication or other failure. Access to all cloud platforms is provided by a paid subscription, with the source code of platforms closed, which does not allow expanding their functionality to meet new requirements to the platforms of the industrial Internet of things.
To provide interoperability between heterogeneous components in IoT that are connected to the common information space, ontologies and ontology mapping mechanisms are used [8–10]. These mechanisms are developed and successfully used in a large number of projects related to socio-cyberphysical systems, the Internet of Things and the industrial Internet of Things, with the goal of creating a semantic description of information accessible to all components of socio-cyberphysical systems and creating the ontological description of IoT components that can be viewed as digital twins [11, 15, 16].
In [17] scenarios of Industrial Internet of Things with digital twins are described:(1)Production on demand. It is possible to create marketplaces of production services that will accept and automatically serve orders from buyers to produce highly customizable goods (for example 3D printing or computer numerical control). Production components would be smart devises tracking orders transmitted through a blockchain network.
