Chapter Four

She woke the next morning to find Mik propped on one elbow, staring down at her. She smiled and pressed her face against his chest. “Morning, brown eyes.”

“Morning, sweet.”

“Why are you staring?”

“Because I can’t believe this is real.” He rolled onto his back, taking her with him. He gave her a gentle squeeze. “You have no idea how I’ve longed to be with you again.”

She brushed her lips against his. “Yes, I do.” She sighed. “Last night when we were making love…I almost felt as if…I was in tune with your thoughts…not the deep ones like with Serge…but I almost felt as if…”

He stroked his hands through her hair. “I felt it too, sweet.”

She stifled a sigh. Had admitting their love for each other taken their relationship to yet another level neither of them had expected? He’d always seemed to have a limited ability to know what she thought. Up to now, it had been a one-way street. She’d decide what this all meant after she had something to eat.

He kissed her and hopped off the bed. “I’m on it.”

She sat up, arching a brow. “You’re on what?”

“Breakfast. You’ll need a good breakfast because I plan to keep you in bed all day.”

She lifted her face, her lips slightly parted.

He bent and kissed her lips. “Be back in a flash.”

Alone, she changed the bedding and showered. Then she got back in bed and dozed. Mik woke her with a kiss twenty minutes later. As she ate, he sat on the bed beside her, nibbling at her neck and fondling her breast. After a few mouthfuls, she decided food was overrated.

She put the tray aside and slipped her arms around his neck. “Feed me, brown eyes.”

He fed her what she wanted most…his arms, his lips, and his cock. They spent most of the day in bed. She woke alone in the middle of the night. She slipped on one of Serge’s shirts and walked downstairs. Mik sat in the dark living room with the cordless phone to his ear. “I’m fine. What about you? Are you all right? You’re sure? And Alex? I talked to him earlier, but I want to make sure he’s all right. You’re sure you’re both all right? I could come home if… I love you…”

Derri tip-toed away and went back to bed. Somehow hearing Mik tell Erica he loved her, made her feel better about borrowing him while Serge was away. When Mik returned to bed several minutes later, she turned in his arms, burying her face against his chest.

“Are they all right?”

“They’re fine.” He held her close and they fell asleep without making love.

She and Mik spent the next six weeks fucking like the proverbial bunnies. She felt happy and yet apprehensive because she couldn’t stop herself from falling even more deeply in love with Mik each time he looked at her with his brown eyes full of love, lust, and adoration. When she spoke to Serge weekly, he reassured her that she had no need to hide her feelings.
