Al did not hesitate to find the Alpha of his pack. Iâd made Alfariâs job a ton easier. He no longer had to tear the crowd, coercing people for information. We were one step closer to getting what weâd come here for: a deal with the werewolves for added protection.
âI donât believe a fuckinâ witch and some vampires have the nerves to show up here at my club.â Akamu was three hundred pounds of muscles with tribal tattoos inked from his shoulders and extending down to his torso. If we should back down and rethink a plan through, now was the time.
âWhile youâre in this club drinkinâ strong drinks and sniffinâ your balls in the woods, demons are closinâ in on all of us. Demons that can rip your heart out and wear it âround their neck as a necklace.â I looked into his deep brown eyes. They went on for miles, like murky water in a river.
âUnless you donât care âbout gettinâ ya position overthrown by demons.â I crossed my legs, waiting to hear what Akamu had to say. I was told he was a hard ass like most leaders, yet I was willing to go toe to toe with him for the greater good.
âMy great-grandfather hated witches after that bitââ Akamu grabbed hold of his neck as I crushed his throat with my thumb and index fingers pressed together.
âMy grandmother is dead, and I donât give a fuck âbout what your great-grandfather thought âbout her. She did what she felt was right since you mangy wolves donât know how to stay out of trouble. You think she was gonâ risk her entire family havinâ pity for your people?â I released Akamu before he reached his last breath. I needed him and his pack, and murdering him would not make me look too noble in this packâs eyes.
âI will rip your hands off,â Akamu threatened.
âNot if I crush your little Werewolf throat before youâre able to.â I uncrossed my legs and leaned forward in the chair.
âBut like I said before, Iâm not here to cause any trouble. I want us to be in alliance like old times. We are fresh generations, so we can run this a new way. The rise of new rulership.â I placed my hands on Akamuâs wrists, then my body jerked up and collapsed. I saw images of the girl from Benson, the one whoâd lost her mother back at the barn, and she had the same eyes of Akamu.
âShe is your daughter and because of the demons, she lost her mother. The little girl in Benson, the slaughter that happened days ago.â I removed my hands from his flesh and my body was stricken with coldness and grief. The loss of his childâs mother had hit his heart deep; too much for my soul to bear, so I blew his pain back into his nostrils and tapped out of it.
âWhat do you know âbout what happened to Mamie?â Akamuâs eyes glowed red, and he stood over me like he wanted to bite my heart out.
