Black hadn’t been in Queens a week when he decided JB had to go. Even though he was his main supplier for years, all ties were broken. Things were bad, and the only way they could be corrected was “somebody had to be outlined in chalk.”

He knew JB always visited his sister, Jacqueline, and remembered Junie saying where she lived. The rest wasn’t hard—she was still driving the same BMW.

He followed her into her building and raced up the flight of stairs, waiting on her as she waited on the slow elevator. She never noticed him as he slid past her in the black hoody.

She entered her apartment and before she could shut the door, Black forced his way in quickly.

She jumped back and reached in her purse, but Black busted her in the head with the butt of the gun.

She dropped everything and stood there, only the wall holding her up. “I don’t know what’s goin’ on, Black. I don’t get in my brother’s affairs.”

“Bitch, my brother dead and that’s all you can come up with. Fuck is you sayin’? He walked closer to her and caught her with a left jab that put her head through the plaster and a right uppercut that laid her ass out.

Darkness hit her.

When she came to, she was laying flat on her stomach, butt-naked with her hands and feet duct-taped.

She turned her head to see Black sitting in the chair holding an iron. He plugged it in.

She began to squirm and tears began to flow. It wasn’t much more she could do with the rag in her mouth.

He turned the iron on high, sat it down, and walked over to her. He rubbed her hair and looked down at her. “I need to know two things: your brother’s phone number and where he lives.” Black moved the rag from her mouth.

“His number is 718-555-4444, and all I know is he lives in Manhattan,” she said, talking fast.

“I just wanted to see if you were goin’ to lie, and you did. Don’t forget I know all that,” he said, not really knowing.

“I’m sorry,” she said through breaths. “I’ll tell you.”

“Too late, girlfriend.” Black stuffed the rag deeper into her mouth. He turned up her stereo then he picked up the iron and snatched it out the wall. He took the extension cord and began to whip her as if she was a child.

She cried, and her body jumped with every forceful swing that cut her skin as he let out his immediate frustrations on this bitch that got his brother caught the fuck up.

“You thought this shit was a game. You thought your brother had this shit all on lock.” He grabbed her feet, flipped her over, and placed the iron in the crease of her pubic hair. Right where her legs came together. “I hope you recognize right from wrong in your next life, and wherever you end up—heaven or hell—tell ’em, ‘Don’t fuck with Black, that nigga from The Lakes.’”

Her body jolted from the pain.
