Chicago was great to me with twelve Prime Recipients and all, but I wanted a change of pace. Denver was my first instinct, but I had changed my mind the night before we left. Winter Park, Colorado was only forty miles west at the next stop, and a damn sight more quiet.

Plus, it turns out you can get a hell of a deal on a nice cabin during the off-season. The rental car was already lined up too. All that was left was getting there and checking out the scenery for more Prime Recipients.

A rented cabin and a cool day for June made the arrival seem pleasant enough, but all they had at the rental car place was a silver Kia. Their loss, I guess. In case you haven't noticed, I've got a thing for cars that rivals my eye for women.

The only thing that worried me was the slim pickings compared to a massive city, but we weren't hurting for money at that point. I wanted to slow down for a couple of weeks and keep an eye on the situation back home. I figured I might even sneak in a fly fishing trip, since I hadn't felt a tug at the end of a pole in a couple of years. It's the simple things you miss when you're living in luxury and bedding any woman you set your mind on.

I drove the econobox through the main drag. The place would have been a ceramic Christmas village brought to life in wintertime, but that was months away. The low mountains were a deep, conifer green with lime stripes cut out for ski slopes. Winter Park had its own charm in summer, I guess.

Pulling into a parking spot in front of a beer hall I wanted to check out, Elena stared at the landscape like it was another planet. Back home it wasn't exactly flat, but the hills amounted to glorified dirt piles. Even a pine tree was a rare thing.

“You gonna make it over there?” I had started opening my door. “We'll see plenty of the place while we're here.”

“I know, but it's so different.” She finally opened her own door and started getting out. Elena's ass displayed right in front of me as she stood up, those tiny, khaki shorts robbing the imagination of details to fill in under that blue tank top.

I'm fucking her so damn hard tonight, after a long-ass nap. I finished getting out and leaned over the roof of the car. “We've got fifteen days in the cabin, so I'm glad you like it.”

“It even smells fresh.” I knew Elena had goosebumps rising as she wiggled her shoulders and closed her eyes.

Neither of us had anything resembling hiking boots, but that was a problem for the next day. “Let's head in and see if the waiter can tell us what's—” Holy shit!

Elena caught me staring. “Grant, what's wrong?”

I nodded in the direction of a blue Jeep a few spaces over. More specifically, at the flannel and dirty blonde goddess heading where we were going.
