Chapter Nine

Zara clutched the sheets to her chest, unable to look at him. She felt him move around in the bed. Then his body came over her and she felt him lean above her.

“You want to talk about it?” he asked her, his voice sounding gentle, and Zara could have sworn she heard a tinge of regret somewhere in there too.

She shook her head. They were in his bed, after he picked her up from the floor of the game room and carried her to his bed where he, in his own words, ‘do it right this time’. She chuckled. “Guess we are going to be friends for a long time then.”

Calvin loved the long time part, but wondered why the friends part bothered him. Then she rolled into him and he curved his hands around her shoulder, sighing when her head settled onto his chest.

Then Calvin learned one more thing about Zara other than the facts that she was breathtakingly gorgeous, had the most beautiful laugh he had ever hears, was fun to hang out with and could kickass at arcade games. She was a hugger when she slept.

And like all the remaining facts, Calvin didn’t mind this one bit.
