Chapter 16

Steel Samurai was flying over the mid-west as it headed for its next target. Inside the robot, Chris was beyond ecstatic. The Colony, Giladon, and Yokozuna were all dead. Not only was the direct threat that they represented gone, but so too was the threat of walking around and giving birth to lesser mutants as a result of their ambient radiation. Chris smiled and shook his head as he thought to himself that his plan was working. He had doubts about his plan, but now that it was over a third of the way complete, he was starting to believe that he could pull it off.

Chris went over to his computer and took a deep breath as he typed the name Atomic Rex into his keyboard. The next part of his plan would call for him to face arguably the most powerful of all of the kaiju and the creature that had killed his friends and sent him running in mankind’s last stand against the monsters. Chris was reviewing the information on the monster that had already been ingrained in his head when they had last battled. He read the bio on the monster aloud, “Atomic Rex: Fifty meters tall, sixty-five meters long. The kaiju is extremely physically powerful and highly resistant to physical injury. Atomic Rex also appears to have an advanced healing ability that allows him to recover from his injuries at an accelerated rate. The monster is highly radioactive. He possesses the ability to let out a short range nuclear burst in the form of his Atomic Wave attack. Atomic Rex has claimed most of the North Eastern United States as his territory.” Chris nodded at the screen. “All right, big boy, it’s time for you to venture out into new lands.” Chris called out, “Kate, come on over here so I can show you what’s next.” Chris looked behind him, but he was unable find Kate. He called out to her again, and when she didn’t answer, he started searching the interior of Steel Samurai for her.
