I’m woken by late morning sun streaming through the window. My body aches in places I’d forgotten existed, and I smile to myself remembering last night.

My dick hardens instantly thinking about the bedroom gymnastics we got up to, and I roll over wondering if Candy is awake and ready for more.

She’s lying on her back snoring softly. Her hair is spread out across the pillow and one arm is thrown above her head, the other across her body. She looks so peaceful that I decide not to wake her.

Instead I pull the covers up to her chest and slip out of bed. I throw on boxers and a t-shirt and pad downstairs to the kitchen.

Last night was without a doubt the best night of my life. And it wasn’t just the mind-blowing sex. Candy and I talked for hours; I’ve never felt so comfortable with anyone.

Now I know what love at first sight feels like, and it feels fucking awesome!

I crack some eggs into a bowl and whisk them into a fluffy texture for scrambled eggs.

I’ve learned to cook working on shift at the fire station. There’s a cooking roster, but I’ll often swap a cleaning shift with some of the guys who hate cooking. I love it, and I love cooking for people.

I’ve got some bacon on the griddle and I’m giving the eggs a final whisk when she walks into the kitchen.

She’s thrown on one of my t-shirts, and it looks over-sized and adorable on her.

“Morning sleepyhead.” I give her a kiss on the forehead.

She goes to sit on a kitchen stool and winces. “My lady bits are sore.”

I run an arm around her waist. “Sorry, not sorry.”

She turns her head and nuzzles into me. “I’m not sorry either. It’s a good sort of sore, like after running a marathon. Not that I’d know,” she adds.

I chuckle. Even first thing in the morning, she’s making me laugh. Now that’s how I want to start my day, every day, for the rest of my life.

The thought hits me suddenly, and I drop the bowl to the counter with a clatter.

She looks at me strangely. “You okay?”

I don’t want to scare her with my newfound revelation that she’s the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. So I pick up the bowl quickly and pour the mixture into the pan.

“You’re not a vegetarian, are you?”

She snorts. “Do I look like I only eat vegetables?”

I slide over and give her shoulder a squeeze. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t keep my hands off this woman. “You look pretty good to me.”

I love how she makes fun of her size, but I hope she knows I find her body sexy as hell. In fact, I’m getting hard again just being close to her.

I turn back to the eggs. If she’s sore down there, I need to give her a break.

“Do you wanna hang out today?” I ask. “Maybe go for a drive to the lake, take a walk.
