WHEN THE FAMILY RETURNED to the ship, they realised they had missed the final part of the climbing competition. They found Bob and Barry relaxed on the balcony, heads in books. On the table sat a polished trophy, champagne, chocolates, and vouchers for complimentary spa treatments.

Bob blurted out, “We won first place in the climbing competition. We have lots of prizes to share.”

The whole family clapped as Bob proudly showed off the trophy.

Barry smiled. “A tough competition, but teamwork helped us win. So, tell us about the sightseeing and shopping?”

Everyone looked at Claudia to explain. After she finished, everyone gathered close for a family hug of tight relief and appreciation. Barry hung his head low, and his shoulders dropped as he spoke.

“I’m so sorry we weren't there to protect you,” said Barry. “We’ll go on all excursions together as a family from now on.”

Bob added, “We’re the two martial arts experts in the family. We could have sorted them out for you. From now on, we will provide you with a full escort off the ship.”

Bob looked at Angela. “Sorry, Granny, I know you used to do martial arts when you were young... but you might be a little rusty.”

Angela smiled and nodded.

The family agreed to Barry’s suggestion and decided to only go on tours organised by the cruise ships or other reputable companies.

Angela desperately wanted the family to relax. “It is what it is. Now, I hear there’s origami activity on deck eight. It starts in twenty minutes if I am not mistaken. Why don’t we do that all together?”

Everyone nodded. The family was impressed by the variety of towel-folded animals on their beds at turndown services.
