AMAZING AMISH SOFT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 Cup sugar

2 lg. eggs

½ Cup shortening

½ Cup milk

2 ½ Cup flour

1 Teaspoon baking powder

¾ Teaspoon baking soda

1 12 ounce bag chocolate chips chips

Put the baking soda in the milk. In a large bowl, cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and milk with baking soda. Mix together and add baking powder. Gradually add flour and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop teaspoon sized scoops on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees until the edges are lightly brown.
