The house in Tahoe is beautiful. It’s not a huge home, but it is right on the water. I take a few moments to walk around the rooms of the quaint log cabin, soaking it all in. He asked Vegas for the keys to her parents’ house and we’ll be spending the next two days here.

After we brought our stuff in, we both couldn’t wait to get outside. And that’s where I’m currently lying on my stomach on a beach towel. Behind the house, there’s a private beach which is where we’ve spent the past several hours, soaking up the sun.

Solo’s hand unties the string of my yellow bikini top. He rubs more sunscreen into the skin of my back while massaging my muscles down to my ass and then toes. I don’t move an inch because his hands on my body feel perfect. The hot August sun seeps in, with the relaxing sounds of the water in the distance. That is until I hear a car door slamming and then the roar of bikes thundering up the road. Anxiety races through me and I start panicking as voices get closer.

I fumble with clumsy fingers, trying to tie the strings of the bathing suit back together behind my back. While I’m stuck face down. “Damn it, help me!” Solo laughs at me and helps me tie them just before Axl and Dana come through the back doors of the house.

My face reddens because Axl almost caught me topless. Well, not completely, but you get the picture here. However, Solo is sitting next to me, cool as the lake’s water, in his swimming trunks, like no big deal. Dana eyes me knowingly, like she’s catching on to the look on my face. She smirks but tries really hard not to make a big deal about it, thank God.

“Nice out here,” Axl says and whips his t-shirt off over his head, tossing it over to Dana. She rolls her eyes and stuffs it in a beach bag.

“Happy birthday, Tami,” she smiles at me. “Surprise! We are throwing you a party up here for your birthday, then, later, we are hitting the casinos.” She looks over to Axl who’s made himself comfortable right next to us, taking a drink out of the little cooler.

“Yeah, what Princess said, happy birthday.” She shakes her head at Axl and sits next to him on a blanket that she brought.

“He’s an idiot. Don’t mind him, it’s really your day. We are going to BBQ and chill a bit.”

“Princess, the king is here, it’s always about the king. Sorry, Tami, you have to find a way to be royalty, not just for your birthday, that doesn’t count. But I can dub you a princess for the day. Sound good?”

“Sure, Axl, gee, I waited my whole life for this gift from you.”

“I know, I’ve never offered this to anyone. You should feel special. I dub you Princess Tami.” Axl holds up his water and crosses it over my body.
