ANTI-MUSLIM HATE CRIMES AT ALL TIME HIGH, SAYS NEW SURVEY

Recent figures released in the wake of the Westminster bombings show hate crimes directed at members of the Muslim community are at an all-time high, according to a report published by Stop Hate UK.

The figures show that seven London mosques have been vandalised in recent days, in apparent revenge attacks for the terrorist atrocities which saw forty-six people lose their lives.

The report details how one imam was physically assaulted in the street outside his mosque, with a man pinning him to a wall, spitting in his face and calling him a ‘fucking paki’.

At one Brixton school, parents received a letter warning them to ensure their children were escorted to and from school until further notice, after reports that two Asian pupils at the school had been verbally and physically assaulted on their way home. Both are Hindu.

The report makes mention of other incidents in which people of other Asian minority groups have been targeted in the apparent — but false — belief they were Muslims.

Regardless, with three million Muslim citizens currently living in Britain, and only seven Muslim-related terrorist incidents having occurred in the entire history of the country, it is at best questionable as to how severe the threat truly is.

There can be no doubt that Muslim extremism exists, as it does in all other religions. But the truth remains that there have been more incidents of white nationalist terrorism in Britain in recent years than any other form of reported extremism.

With recent comments by the likes of Michael Sullivan stoking racial tensions further, it seems to be a foregone conclusion that attacks from — and on — both sides are likely to continue and escalate.
