“Oriana.” I turn back to look at Sailor, who’s standing with Keir by her side. His eyes are solely on her, and I wonder if my husband ever looked at me that way.

I doubt it.

Actually, no I don’t doubt it, I know he never once looked at me the way Keir is looking at Sailor right now.

“Yes?” I answer.

“I hope to see you again. We don’t see enough of Jake as it is. He’s always so busy. Thank you both for coming.” She smiles and hugs me.

Jake and I are the last two left. Keir and Jake got to talking, and Sailor was showing me her shoe collection, which, I might add, is out of this world. She gushed over every single pair as if they were her children.

“Happy anniversary,” I tell them as Jake places his hand on my hip and leads me outside.

When we get to his car, the valet hands Jake his key, then he unlocks the car and holds the door open for me. I climb in and watch as he walks around to the driver’s side and slides in. Jake starts the car, his hand tight on the steering wheel as he drives. He hits the highway and looks over at me.

“Would you like to come to mine for a drink?” I ask. I’ve never invited another man into my home before, never mind one that I intend to sleep with.

This is all so new to me.

“You don’t want to fuck in the car?” Jake asks, taking the exit to my place.

I bite my lip. “There isn’t much room,” I reply, scanning the car’s interior. I have a feeling the steering wheel would be on my ass.
