A CLOSER LOOK AT LAUREL LAKE FROM THE VISTA

About 0.1 mile past the point where the Mountain Creek Trail rejoins Old Railroad Bed Road, you come to the metal gate you passed earlier. The Appalachian Trail heads uphill to the left, signaling that you have completed the loop portion of this hike, at the 5-mile mark. Continue straight on the old gravel railroad bed for 1 mile and turn right to cross Mountain Creek near Fuller Lake. Continue to follow the path back past the concession stand to return to your vehicle at the furnace stack pavilion area of the park.
