Instrument panel

I used the kit-provided film for the instrument panel. I started by painting the panel in cockpit colours and then picking out details with a fine point brush. After a coat of Future and coat of Flat, a wash of Burnt Umber was applied. Fine bits of scuffing were represented by drawing them in with a fine point Chrome Berol Prismacolor pencil. After the panel was finished and the instrument film was added to the back, I placed a small drop of Future Floor Wax in each dial. After a while, when the ‘bubble’ of Future had dried and contracted, I added another. The process was repeated until a convex bubble of clear was present in each dial face. Some wires were added to the bottom of the panel to finish it off.
