Mahes sat and watched the scenery go by. He couldn’t believe how easy it had been to get Dana to agree to go and meet Nefertem. He had been racking his brain about how he was going to suggest the trip to her. Who knew it would be that easy? Turning to look at Dana’s profile, he followed the line of her jaw to the slim column of her throat. He felt drawn to her. None of those other women who had tried to catch his attention in the shopping mall compared to Dana. He had seen the way they looked at him, but for the first time in his long existence, he felt uncomfortable with the unwanted attention. And he knew if he reacted in any way, Dana wouldn’t have taken too kindly to it.

Shifting his gaze further down her body, his eyes rested on the outline of her breast.

Her breasts were the perfect size. Just thinking about how it felt to caress them, to suck them deep inside his mouth, made him want to taste them again. His body swelled to the aching point, making his jeans suddenly feel too tight. With reluctance, he pulled his eyes away from Dana’s chest. Mahes then noticed her give him a quick look before she once more focused her attention onto the road.

“Stop doing that, Mahes.”

“What exactly was I doing that you want me not to do again?”

“You were staring at me as if you wanted to devour me.”

Mahes wasn’t going to deny that he was thrilled Dana felt uncomfortable under his regard. “I can’t help it. Is it a crime that I want to taste every inch of you?”

Dana’s fingers tightened their hold on the steering wheel, causing her knuckles to turn white. “It is if you make me have an accident and I total somebody’s car.”

“Then I suggest you get us back to your place quickly. I want you again.” Mahes’

voice came out sounding husky with need.

Swearing under her breath, Dana slammed her foot down on the gas petal. In what seemed like record time, she was pulling into her parking space in the underground garage at her condo. Mahes collected up all the shopping bags from the backseat before coming around to Dana’s side. With his free hand, he hauled her up against his chest and claimed her lips in a demanding kiss. Pulling away he simply said, “Hurry.”

Hands shaking with need, Dana tried to get the key into the lock of the security door that opened to the inside of the building. Mahes was tempted to push her aside and do it himself, but she managed to turn the lock on her second try. Racing to the elevator they both pushed the up button at the same time. Luckily the elevator was already at the ground floor. The doors slid open as they hurried inside.

Once inside Dana’s condo, Mahes kicked the door shut behind them and let the shopping bags drop where he stood. One big step was all he needed to reach Dana and roughly pull her to him.
