Manchester United

At the age of 12, David was a mascot for Manchester United against West Ham.

David’s original shirt number at Man U was 10, however he changed to his now famous number 7 when Eric Cantona left the club.

During his time there, the club won the Premier league no less than six times.

They also won the FA Cup twice, and the Champions League in spectacular last-minute fashion in 1999.

His league debut for Man U was on 2 nd April 1995 - earlier than expected as many senior players were injured.

He did however play for the first team in 1992, as a substitute against Brighton in the league cup.

He also made his Champions League debut in 1994 - and actually scored a goal against Galatasaray!

David was a member of the team in the 1998/9 season that uniquely won the ‘treble’ - Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

It is said that the end was near for David’s career at United when at half-time during an FA Cup game against Arsenal, manager Alex Ferguson kicked a boot at Beckham’s head, leaving a cut which required stitches.

He finally moved to Real Madrid for a fee of £25m.
