"Let's play back the message and see if we can get a clue as to who it is," suggested Joe.

"Good idea," Frank agreed. He turned to Sammy.

"Do you have a noise reduction system built into your stereo system?" asked Frank.

"Sure do," Sammy replied.

"Good, I want to play with the sound levels on the tape to see if there are any clues in the background noises." Frank popped the incoming-message cassette out of the answering machine.

Then he walked over to the stereo system and slipped the tape into the cassette deck. After it played out, Frank rewound the tape and adjusted the levels on the graphic equalizer.
