Me: Also, don’t think this is how I am in a relationship. You different and I’m having a hard time suppressing my feelings for you.

Me: But I will until I figure out what the fuck I’m doing. When I do come for you I want it to be done right.

Presley: When? Don’t you mean IF.

Me: Nah.

Presley: I could easily send this conversation to Teyaira.

Me: Do what you gotta do.

Presley: I won’t though. I’m kidding. Thanks for understanding.

THE NEXT NIGHT…

“Man, I feel like I haven’t been here in forever.” Teyaira beamed, walking into my bedroom.

I thought if I saw her, all my thoughts would dissipate, but that wasn’t the case. All I felt was like shit for thinking what I was thinking and feeling how I felt.

Many times during our talks, Teyaira had explained her hesitance to fuck with me in fear that I was just messing with her just to do some shit. She told me in great detail how broken she would be if both Lequay and I used her and how she wasn’t sure if she would recover.

Those conversations alone plagued my mind as she talked my ear off about something I could barely pay attention to, while she undressed in my room like it was hers too.

“You said what?” I questioned, noticing she was waiting for my response to something she’d said.

“I said my shoe event has been running me ragged. But at least it’s been the only thing keeping my mind off of you.” She smiled, coming over to lay next to me in bed.

“Shoe event? Since when?”

“Oh, I’ve been planning it for the past few weeks, sending out invites and stuff to be sure all the right people come. I might need to hold something though. Just like ten grand.”

“Mine must be lost in the mail.” I stared at the TV mounted on the wall as she sifted through Hulu.

She chuckled, but I was lost on what the joke was.

“No, not even. I figured you wouldn’t want to go with all this going on.” She gestured to my leg.

“I wouldn’t wanna go to my woman’s shoe launch? You serious? That’s all you could come up with?” I frowned down at her as she lay on my chest.

“I mean, yeah. But all the better that I was wrong. So can I just grab some money from your safe? Or if you don’t trust me with the code, the event planner accepts credit cards.”

I barked out a laugh, not really out of hilarity but the fact that she was dead ass trying to dig in my pockets for an event she ain’t even invite me to. Not only that, but we’d also barely kicked it because I needed space. I wasn’t sure if she was delusional as fuck or just trying to move past the issues without having to work too hard.

“I ain’t got it.”

“You don’t have ten grand?” She sat up. “You must be spending too much on the baby mama.”

“Sounds like you should’ve asked before her then,” I replied, shocking the fuck out of her.
