CHAPTER EIGHT

Will

Will walked out of the hospital. The bright midday sunshine made him squint.

The conversation with Beth had not ended exactly as he had wanted it to, but she had at the very least not banished him completely from her life. She was allowing him to at least comeback and check on her from time to time.

It was a small step in the right direction even though she had made it completely clear that she was not willing to entertain continuing their relationship until he was completely honest with her.

That was something he wasn’t sure that he was willing to do at this point in the game. Not until the threat of Ethan had been neutralized and things could return back to some semblance of normalcy.

It would be then that he would leave the Rann family in all but name and tell her the entire story and pray to God that she stood by him.

She was the one that he believes he could spend the rest of his life with. Someone he could settle down and marry. Have children and a family with. Someone he wanted in his life permanently.

That was all that he wanted from his life. He knew that was something that she too wanted.

Now he had to make sure that it happened.

He pulled his phone out of his pocket as he got to his car, dialing John as he went.

“We need to talk,” Will said as soon as John picked up the phone.

“God, you are demanding lately Will.”

“You’re not funny.”

“I wasn’t trying to be. I was merely pointing out a fact.”

“Well, I need you to call Jack and meet me at the pub.” Will pulled out of the hospitals parking lot and onto the main way

“Again, here we with the demands.”

“John. Now is not the fucking time with this shit. I am about fucking done with everything and we have some things to do. Being that we are the Rann family it is about high time that people started paying for the bullshit they keep tossing our way.”

“Well I am glad that you have come to your senses about how this family is run, but I fail to see why now you are starting to come to terms with what we are is going to change how things around here are being done.”

“Ethan has to pay.” Will all but screamed into the phone. He was tired of the runabout he was getting from John.

“Well of course he does Will. We all have been trying to deal with him for months now, almost a year if truth be told. I am not sure what it is exactly you would like me to do, aside from what I already am.” John’s voice was more condescending than normal.

Will gritted his teeth as he pulled out onto the highway and headed back across the city.

“So are you going to help me or aren’t you?”

Silence.

“Fine then I guess I will just damn we deal with Ethan myself.” Will hit the -Bluetooth button on the steering wheel to hang up, before pressing the gas pedal to thefloor.
