I was kind of sad that I had to leave Aasir's party earlier than I wanted, but I was thankful to have even had the time to stop in. I spent the drive from the venue to my office, mentally transitioning my headspace from my family and Patrick to upcoming meetings and work duties. I couldn't help but wonder; who knew that closure that I didn't even know I needed would feel so…. Refreshing.

The cars spread sporadically throughout the vast parking lot since it was a Saturday afternoon and outside of normal business hours for most people. This particular property was located on the outskirts of Atlanta. It was quiet, spacious, and grand enough for my clients to visit without feeling like they were in the hustle and bustle of the city. I've been here three years, and still have seven left on my ten-year lease.

I rummaged through the side door, unlocking it with my key fob, then disarming the alarm to make it to the fourth floor quickly. I didn't have to use my key that opened the door to my suite because my assistant, Hailee, was already in the office running around in her distressed jeans, shouting into the headset, jotting something down on a clipboard. She was handling business. Previously, Hailee was acting as my Junior PR rep, on a very part-time basis. Her role as my executive assistant was a promotion and full-time. It had been just the two of us for a while until I increased my staff by adding a Senior PR rep and a Junior PR rep to Imani B. Relations. We were rocking and rolling, and although it took me a while to build a team that I trusted, I wouldn't change anything about the process.

In a cubicle across the room, my reps were huddled together, eyeing a laptop. "Hey, Imani." Erma, the senior rep, greeted me as she pushed her dreads out of her face. The fact that they showed up to work, without me asking them, on a Saturday, further confirmed I had a strong team.

"Well, good afternoon to you too." I smiled back at Erma before looking over to Corbin, who was typing profusely with aggravation. "You good, Corbin?" Everything he did was in an exaggerated manner, but he knew his shit, and he and Erma worked well together. He was already asking how he could be promoted from a junior to senior rep.

He spun around in his chair, throwing his head back to remove the bangs that draped his forehead. "Ugh, yes, girl. These trolls on the internet will not get the best of me. You know.” He stands up, barely to my chest. "Fernando's social media has been poppin' lately."

I nod, enthused with Corbin's work. He handled a few client's social media and supported Erma on direct client relations. "Yeah, I see that. I also see how engaging you are with the fans."

"Right," he rolled his neck. "But I see where he's been back and forth with the guy he got into it on the court with.
