Feathered necklace

Materials:

Feathers of choice, about 10cm (4in) long: can be cut down to the appropriate size depending on size of bead cone

1.35m (4¼ft) fine silver coloured chain

2 bead cones

2 3mm silver coloured beads

2 silver coloured 6mm jump rings

0.8mm silver coloured wire

Tools:

Wire cutters

Chain-nose pliers

Instructions:

1 Cut a 20cm (7¾in) piece of wire. Fold in half.

2 If necessary, cut down your feathers to the length that looks best with your choice of bead cone (remembering the extra length of the bead cone). In your non-dominant hand, arrange the feathers in a bunch and place them in the fold of the wire from step 1.

3 Wrap one of the wire halves around the feathers, about 1cm (½in) from the feather tips.

4 Thread the wires and feather bunch through a bead cone and a small silver coloured bead, and, following the instructions on page 7, form a wrapped loop.

5 With chain-nose pliers, open a jump ring and attach the feather tassel to one end of the chain.

6 Make a second feather tassel to attach to the other end of the chain.

A feather tassel makes a perfect bookmark.
