Use an embroidery technique called duplicate stitching. This is quite often used to decorate a finished knitted project. You stitch the yarn into the work exactly in the same pattern that was used to knit the project. You are quite literally duplicating the purl or knit stitches in the finished piece. This creates a strong, invisible weave. This doesn’t always work well, depending on your pattern and it is best used with thinner or worsted weight yarn. If you use it with thicker yarn, it can end up looking very bulky.
