Jonee and I hadn’t communicated much since Jayden’s birthday party. Months had gone by and she was still in her feelings despite Brooklyn proving to be anything but random as she put it. We were going on a year strong and she still found time to post on Instagram about hoes that I didn’t have. Another reason why I had been putting off calling her to set up Christmas arrangements for Jayden. It was Brooklyn and I’s first Christmas together and I wanted my son here too. It wasn’t a big deal to me but it was to Brooklyn. That was all the more reason for Jonee to come up with some bullshit excuse as to why he couldn’t.

“What?” She snapped answering my call.

“Wassup Jonee.”

“Skip the pleasantries, you’re only calling because you want something so what is it?”

“What day does Jayden get out of school for Christmas break so I can have Chanel make travel arrangements?”

“A real parent would know the answer to that. You get the emails don’t you?”

“You got it, I’ll figure it out and have Chanel send you the information.”

“There’s no need. He’s staying home for Christmas.”

Here we go.

“That’s not what we agreed on. Alternating holidays Jonee, you got him last year. I’ll be up for Thanksgiving and he’s with me on Christmas.”

“Yea we did but you haven’t enforced that in years. He’s been with me on Christmas the last three years and you come up to spend time with your family. Ohhh I see, your little girlfriend must be behind this.”

“I called you to talk about my son.”

“Shouldn’t have wasted the unlimited minutes because he’s staying right here.”

“Keep fucking with m-.”

“And what Sevonne? What the fuck are you going to do?”

“You should really be thankful you got pregnant by the nigga you did. I’d never hurt my son playing with your ass but trust me, I hope you’re enjoying this shit right now because the joke is going to be on you sooner than later.”

Hanging up the phone, I was tired of playing with Jonee. At this point, I wanted to put myself on child support. Legally, we had no order in place. We agreed on an amount and how Jayden would split his time. She made a lot of empty threats but for the most part it worked out until now. She was in her feelings that I had a woman and using Jayden to control me. Trying to at least because Jonee wasn’t running shit.

Going to court, she would definitely get more money than I was paying now but the inconvenience was worth it. My nonchalant demeanor allowed Jonee to think she was running the show but she had just played her last hand being bitter.

Turning around in my chair, I focused back on the soundboard so I could run a few tracks back but I was bombarded with a champagne shower.

“What the fuck you doing?” I snapped shrieking in my seat. They were tripping right now but crazier things had happened in the studio usually without Chanel present.
