Blue

I woke up and realized that at some point, KJ had left the room, which wasn’t surprising. Anytime he’d wake up before me, he’d leave the room and just go wherever he wanted. He was at home there, could hang with anybody, and would be well taken care of, regardless of who he was with.

Glancing to my left, I smiled when I saw that Kaysin was still there with me, sleeping peacefully. For a long while, I just laid there, watching him. It was honestly surreal to finally have him there with me. My heart was filled with joy, as I now felt like I was whole again.

For a second, that Ashley girl crossed my mind, and I knew that she had to be somewhere heart broken. Kaysin had blossomed so beautifully. He was still athletically slender, but he was a long way from the skinny boy he used to be. His handsome face was still blemish free, and he’d grown out a goatee that was silky, just like the hair on his head. His light brown skin was smooth, and he’d gotten several more tattoos. However my name was still prominently showcased on his forearm, which I now had a better view of.

Remembering his body so well, I realized that he’d added more detail to my name, like colors. At some point, he’d clearly removed his shirt, and was sleeping in a wife beater, so I could see that he had some type of portrait etched on his chest. With him lying on his back, I was able to lift his shirt, before my eyes filled with tears. Directly on his chest was an extremely detailed portrait of my face. It was a younger version of me, of course. But it was undoubtedly me.

Right then, I’d never felt more loved in my life. It wasn’t even about anything Kaysin had said, thus far. Besides, I’d been doing most of the talking. It was in the fact that I could clearly see that my love had been reciprocated. I hadn’t been the only one longing. I hadn’t been stuck by myself. Regardless of who we’d dealt with while apart, we’d remained emotionally and spiritually connected.

Feeling overwhelmed with emotions, I tenderly kissed Kaysin, while he slept. Gradually, his eyes opened, as he wrapped his long, strong arms around me.

“What time is it?” he gruffly questioned.

“Five o’clock.”

“Damn. Half the day is gone.”

“I know,” I smirked.

He eyed me. “What you smiling for?”

“Because.” My smile widened.

“Because what?”

“Because I woke up to you.”

The brightest grin stretched across his face. “No bullshit. I aint slept this good in Ion know when.”

“Right.” I licked my lips. “But…can I ask you something?”

“What’s up?”

I cleared my throat. “Did I get too thick for you or something?”

He instantly frowned. “What? Man, hell nawl. You finer than a muthafucka.”

I arched a brow. “You sure? Cause I can’t tell.”

“And how is that?”

“Cause. You just laying in this bed, and aint trying to fuck me.”

His expression grew serious. “And you right. I aint trying to fuck.
