Chloe

A scurrying, furry thing crawls across my foot, rousing me from my doze. A shriek erupts from my mouth before I can stop it My leg feels like a thousand pound weight is attached as I kick at the offending rodent. Blinking my eyes, the haze that has been covering them clears. Surrounded by shadows, I feel like I’m in the spotlight of a macabre play. The lone fixture hangs from the rafters, bathing me in light, unable to see past a foot in front of me. Dust rains down as another rat runs across the beams overhead.

Sweat pours down my face, into my eyes, burning. I try to raise my hand to clear it away.

What the hell?

Rough rope winds around my wrists. My legs are bound, spread apart, each tied to a different leg of the heavy wooden chair. Twisting my arms, the fibers abrade my wrists, the scent of my blood perfuming the air each time I pull and twist. My heart pounds inside my chest.

What the fuck do I do?

No answer, but a snore resonates from my cat.

Hey, bitch! Wake up! I need your help!

Nothing. Nada.

Guess I’m on my own.

Damn it! Why didn’t I listen to my sisters and Rory? Why do I have to be so damn hard headed? Have to have things my way, like a freaking brat?

My shoulders and arms ache from the strain of my arms tied behind the chair. My head drops with regret.

Think Chloe! Think!

Gulping down air to my burning lungs, I try to peer into the darkness. Along the wall to my left is a sliver of light at the bottom. As I watch, something blocks the light before it returns. Another rat? No, it’s not fast. It’s something bigger.

As my heart rate decreases, so does the pounding in my ears. Muffled voices are coming from the direction of the light.

It’s a door?

If it is, it means it’s a way out. But who’s behind it?

The voices raise to a shout, but I’m unable to make out the words. The sound of flesh hitting flesh and a female scream sends a chill down my spine.

Oh God. What I have I gotten myself into?

More screams erupt from the woman as the males laugh. She pleads for them to stop, each cry gut wrenching in its intensity. The door opens and the light is blinding.

There on the floor, on her knees, arms tied behind her back, is Shelly.

Oh God!

Blood drips from the corner of her mouth. Mascara runs in rivers down her cheeks. Snot pours from her nose. The man in front of her rips her dress open before slapping her across the face. The man barks out words, then laughs as the man standing behind Shelly shoves her head toward the floor. He flips up her dress, baring her ass. The man in front grabs Shelly’s hair, wrenching her neck up.

“Where is it?” he grates out.

“I don’t know. I’ve told you that,” she whines.

“Perhaps a cock in your whore cunt will jog your memory, eh?”

“No, please.
