Chapter 8

Camden didn't wait for her to get out of the car herself, but immediately picked her up so that her legs wrapped around his waist and he carried her up the stairs to her door while kissing her at the same time.

"Where's your key?" He asked in between kisses and she dug her hand into her purse hurriedly and had the key out in a matter of seconds. He grinned as he retrieved it from her and opened her door.

He kicked the door closed as they fumbled their way in and he took a second to turn back and make sure he had it locked to avoid intrusions.

Then he let her slide to the floor and land on her feet while still kissing her. He wrapped his arm around her waist and Jodie felt like she was drowning. To save her legs from getting weak, she held on to him with her arms around his neck.

She never thought that she would ever see herself kissing Camden Hall. She had imagined it a lot of times, especially before Dex had asked her out but she never had the opportunity to explore.

Enough about thinking of Dex. She chastised herself, you have a hot guy in your house and even if we haven't settled the bad parts, we could just enjoy this for one night and get back to the messy part.

With that, she lowered one of her hands and sneaked it under his shirt. As she had imagined, she felt his taut packs, and out of curiosity, she continued to go lower until she was tracing the slight hair V-curve there.

Her cheeks were aflame at what she was doing but she attained a little bit of courage that she didn't know that she could get and aimed at sneaking her hand even lower but before she could try it, Camden's hand rested on top of hers.

She broke off the kiss and looked up to see him looking tortured,

"You're escalating this, Jo." He whispered breathily and she rose an eyebrow at him,

"I don't understand, what are you then doing here?"

"I just can't think when I'm around you." He confessed and she was surprised to hear that but she didn't dwell on it,

"Then don't think... Just do." And she took one of his hands and pressed it between her bosom.

Camden took a deep breath and slowly removed his hand from there. Instead, he took both of hers and brought them to his lips,

"I want to do this right, Jo."

"This is right enough for me." She tried to assure him but he shook his head,

"I have been wanting you for far too long, Jo and I want our first to be memorable. I don't want us to rush things and end up regretting them."

Jodie had already stopped breathing when she heard his confession. She wasn't sure she had heard him right but if she did, he was just trying to tell her that he had feelings for her.
