“That beehive was amazing,” Skye’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I have wanted to see it since it opened. But I could never get anyone to come to see it with me, so thank you, Jordan.”

“My pleasure,” Jordan smiled down at her; he could not help it. Her girlish enthusiasm and utter fascination with the hive was catchy. “I must say you made it a lot more interesting this time around.”

“You’ve seen it before?” Skye looked up at Jordan questioningly.

“Yes; I was invited to the grand opening,” Jordan told her.

Of course, he was! Skye was jolted back to the real world. Jordan was not only a top sportsman but a celebrity and successful businessman. His world consisted of invites to important events, spots on TV shows, and ribbon cuttings.

“I think this spot here by the water is a good spot for our picnic,” Jordan looked at her for confirmation.

“It is beautiful,” Skye helped Jordan spread the blanket on the grass.

Skye sat on the soft blanket and looked out over the man-made lake. It sparkled and shimmered lazily in the sun while the ducks, geese, and other types of water birds drifted on its surface.

“Sparkling water?” Jordan poured the beverage into a champagne flute. “At least everyone around will think we are drinking champagne.” He laughed and clinked his glass onto hers.

“Where does Malcolm manage to find these fresh berries?” Skye enjoyed a few of them. “I struggled to find them at this time of year.”

“He has his secret little food sources,” Jordan shared Malcolm’s secret. “But that is all he will say about them, and he is very protective over where they are.”

“Ah,” Skye smiled, enjoying this relaxed, playful side of Jordan. “I think we should follow him one day and find out. All I end up with are the frozen ones, and although they are nice, there is nothing like fresh fruit or berries.”

“I can’t agree more,” Jordan took a handful of berries as well. “So, what does Skye Larsen do for fun?”

“Fun?” Skye raised her eyebrows. “That is something I have not thought about in years now.”

“And why not?” Jordan looked at her, amazed. “You know what they say about all work and no fun?”

“That you will be able to keep your business afloat, pay your rent, and put food on the table?” She said innocently.

“Everyone needs downtime, Skye,” Jordan became serious. “You don’t want to look back on your life and have a list full of things you always wanted to do instead of a list of things you have done.”

“Wow,” Skye looked at Jordan over the rim of her glass. “That was deep.”

“I can be deep,” Jordan saluted with her glass. “I have many facets to my personality, believe it or not.”

“I see so,” Skye teased him, enjoying their afternoon together. “What do you do for fun?”

“Oh, you know, take beautiful women for picnics beside a lake,” Jordan grinned cheekily at her. “I also like to go fishing. There is nothing better than going down to the river.
