He recalled the night after the film festival, the one premiering his and Derek’s gay short film. It was all of a ten minute blip on the big screen. Sitting with Madison on his left, and Derek and Kendra on his right, the short film entitled, Timeless. Shocker of all shockers! It had full frontal male nudity and men kissing! Yet, won a small prize for audience favorite award.

Big deal?

Will didn’t think so at the time, but Derek had stars in his eyes.

Madison was full of praise as well, encouragement came from all sides after the event and the tiny short film went on to show in over one hundred film festivals worldwide. But short films always did. The tiny little clips were needed as space filler. Not like entering a full length feature film.

What Will didn’t realize was this was an industry of cutthroats and enormous egos. At forty-three he felt like he’d spent the last fifteen years in a boxing ring. And he was battered and worn out, way too early.

The best part of that premiere night for Will, was taking Madison to his apartment afterwards…and making love to him.
