GREEN KITCHEN STORIES

Luise Vindahl (1985) is nutritional therapist and – together with David Frenkiel – founder of popular vegetarian food blog Green Kitchen Stories.

Why did you and David start Green Kitchen Stories?

‘We started it around eight years ago, as at that time we couldn’t really find any modern, healthy, vegetarian recipes, such as they are almost mainstream today. David is a vegetarian, but I’m not – I’m focused on healthy, balanced food. We were eating very differently but wanted to combine healthy and vegetarian. It wasn’t there! If you went into a café, you couldn’t just order avocado on rye-bread. David was an art director and really interested in blogs. It started as a hobby, to collect the recipes we created. We wanted to combine them with amazing pictures and a story, which was quite different from what was out there then. And that’s the way we still do it. People recognise and like to follow the stories. It’s very personal, we write from our heart and create what we like. It’s a mirror of our lives, but as we’ve grown, we’ve separated work and personal a bit more, especially now we have kids.’
