when the white witch gives birth to unnatural winter / at night, a chain mail of darkness descends over your eyes /

you count your organs for market / you weigh each one on golden scales / perfume and oil and coins for your eyes / each eye a wheel turned inward as if to sleep /

when children fall out of every rotation / like veils from the hanged woman / hanged by the weight of her own body / the force of gravity and desire / the eros of self-sufficiency /

the eros of the garment that carries one from life into death / the eros of all the mouths inside our bodies / one black box opening into another
