Kabir had packed his bag to leave for New York. Hina had dropped by to wish him goodbye. She passed him a note.

“What’s this?” he asked, surprised.

“Wafa wanted me to give you the note. She said she already spoke to you?” Hina asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

Kabir nodded in confirmation.

“I wouldn’t have given it to you, but she said you forgave her.” Hina had a look of disbelief in her eyes.

“We made amends,” he replied softly.

Hina nodded. “That’s good to hear. You have suffered enough. I’m happy to see you’re moving on from one woman.”

Kabir wanted to smile at her. He could only hear her unspoken words, Now move on from Elif.

She leaned up to hug him. “Take care of yourself.”

Kabir nodded, and then she walked away. He looked down at the note and smiled as he read it.

“That’s a beautiful poem,” a voice said from behind him.

Kabir glanced backward and saw Elif peering down his shoulder with an awestruck look in her eyes.

There she is.

“I’m happy you have closure. It really does help,” she whispered against his cheek.

Kabir looked down at the note and read it again.
