Iâm sitting in a courtyard outside the hostel in Roncesvalles. Had a long journey yesterday, left home at 4:30 am, the flight was at six, we made a stopover in Amsterdam and then landed in Bilbao at 11:20 am. Then I took a bus to Pamplona at 1 pm, and it was a two-hour ride. A taxi picked me up at 3 and I arrived in Saint Jean Pied de Port at 4:30 pm, so it was a long day. Had a great conversation with a Finnish guy on the bus, and I also talked a lot with the taxi driver. Once in SJPDP, I met a girl from Austria and we hiked to Huton, roughly 5 km and a 700 m altitude difference. It took around two hours and it was really hot. But still good to get there.
Today has been a great day, with an incredible view of the Pyrenees. Started at around 6:30 am to a beautiful red sunrise, seen sheep, horses, and cows, plus a lot of hikers of course. An okay day exertion-wise, arrived at 1 pm. Started out with a couple of other people, but then I walked alone for a while. Iâve talked with a lot of people. Sandra from the US during the hike, then an Australian at lunch, and then a group of people outside the hostel. A lot of fun even if I was a bit tired at lunch, probably didnât drink enough water. But a lot of fun conversation, and it was simply fun to talk. Felt great when I walked, such a sense of freedom, so happy that I did this, that Iâm actually here, so proud of myself.

Another great day, started at 6:15 am and arrived at 12:30 pm, a hot day again so I decided not to go on to the next village, so stayed in Zubiri. Today Iâve talked a lot with a guy from California, a philosophy student who has just graduated. We are very likeminded, although he is 24 years old, and I shared my own journey from insights to yoga retreats. We talked almost the entire day as we walked. It feels as if he is a highly sensitive person too and has similar thoughts and doubts. Feels as though he got a lot out of talking to me and I increasingly feel that this is right. He really appreciated our conversation and Iâm very happy to be able to share, and it strengthens my resolve to be myself and share my experiences.
Did some yoga by the river after the hike, and it was great, but I still got emotional and cried a little. It was when I felt how happy I am to be on this journey. I like it so much, Iâm talking to lots of people, everybody is open and sharing. At first, it felt a little unfamiliar to be talking like that, but now itâs better and better. And Iâm relaxed and trying to take it easy and do whatever I feel like, and thatâs very good.
