Grasping the doorknob, I twist it to the right and push the door open slightly.

Noel looks away from his computer.

“You wanted to see me?” I ask.

“Yeah, come in,” he says, waving me over.

Closing the door behind me, I stroll over, stopping in front of his desk. “Yes?”

It’s been almost a week since our day at the beach and we’ve been going along with things as usual. Our class will be over next week which means we’ll have our final lab this week.

I’m at a B+ and I hate it. This is my last chance to help raise my grade before our final exam and lab test.

Noel hasn’t said much these past few days and I don’t know why. It’s not like him and I don’t know why it bothers me, but it does.

I push my glasses up the bridge of my nose and he says, “Closer.”

Moving around his desk, I stop at the very edge of it. “Is this better?”

“Closer,” he insists.

“Noel, we’re at work,” I remind him.

My mind flashes back to when he handcuffed me to himself. I won’t let something like that happen again.

As if he can read my mind he raises his hands. “No handcuffs. You can search me if you want to.”

“Just tell me what I’m here for. I won’t come any closer.”

I still have work to do before I can go back to ZDB.

He rises from his chair, stalking over to me and grabbing my hand roughly. “I have a problem that only you can solve.”

His hands grip my waist as he picks me up, setting me on top of his desk.

He brushes a finger over my bottom lip and cups my face. “Whatever you’re going to say to get out of this, don’t.”

I move his hands off my face. “I have work to do and I’m sure you do too.”

“I do, but my problem is, I’m starving.” Noel’s hands travel behind me, grabbing my hips and pulling me flush against him.

Instantly, I feel how hard he is in his slacks.

“I’ve never gone this long without having real sex, Gem. I need it.”

I knew this moment was coming. The moment where his control finally snaps. But it can’t be today, or here in this office.

Things are better when they’re planned and every single encounter with him hasn’t been planned besides our nights in Cancun.

But just this one thing, I want to have control over.

But will he listen?

“Tomorrow, I’ll do it,” I tell him. “We can go to a hotel or whatever.”

He curls his lip. “I’ve waited long enough. When I made that deal with you, I took you at your word that you’d have sex with me.”

Frowning, I snap, “And I will! I just pictured it being in a bed instead of on an office desk.”

He straightens, crossing his arms. “You realize at any moment I could decide to knock your house down. Demolish it to dust.”

My heart clenches. “I know that.”

He chuckles and sighs. “How do I know you won’t suddenly have something to do tomorrow?”

“You’ll just have to trust me,” I reply with a shrug.
