Michael watched as Dominic entered the doorway, overjoyed to see his master. Cara was on her knees, just as he was, both of them side by side with their head’s partially bowed. Michael looked to Cara and smiled quickly before looking fully to the floor. He and Cara were nude, except for the plastic cover Michael wore. After their sexual encounter in the dungeon, Cara had lovingly put it back on. The two of them had not touched each other sexually since.

“Where’s Sam?”

Michael felt a knot form in his stomach. It was his fault Sam had left and after their altercation, he wasn’t sure how Dominic would feel.

Cara spoke up. “He was angry that you’d been ignoring him. He took out some of his anger on Michael before he left.”

Dominic rushed to Michael, dragging him off the floor. He gathered Michael’s chin in his grasp and lifted Michael’s head. “Did he hurt you?”

“Nothing I couldn’t handle. And Cara saved me from more.”

Dominic moved to Cara and drew her up off her knees. “You’ll tell me all about it tonight? We all shall share dinner. I realized while I was away that I’ve spent much of my time with Michael as of late and I’ve been neglecting you. Sam may have been right about me ignoring my duties as your master, but he didn’t have the right to hurt anyone.”

Cara smiled and lowered her head.

Their master kissed her forehead. “I thank you for protecting Michael in my absence.”

“I can see you love him very much, master. I knew it would bring you great sorrow for him to be hurt.”

Dominic’s gaze went to Michael’s. “Yes, I do love him very much. And you know how much I care for you, Cara. You are important to me.”

Michael felt a tiny pinch of jealousy at the attention his master was lauding on Cara, but suddenly understood exactly how she felt when she saw him with Dominic. She deserved their master’s affections, especially after she intervened on his account.

“Let me get washed up and we’ll have dinner together as a family, in the dining room.” Dominic released Cara and walked to Michael, pulling him into his embrace. His master kissed him briefly before walking up the stairs to his bedroom.

Michael looked at Cara, who was beaming. “Is it enough?”

“I know he loves you more. I am content with that as long as he includes me.” Cara leaned up to kiss Michael’s cheek before heading for the kitchen. As Michael followed behind her, he saw she was urging on the cook and the butler. “The master is home and ready to eat soon.”

Cara grasped a bottle of wine and began opening the bottle as Michael neared. “Are you always this bossy?”

“I was hired to be Dominic’s personal assistant. Things shifted some one day, and I became his submissive after I couldn’t watch from the sidelines any longer. Dominic still pays me to cater to all his needs. Who do you think Sam overheard Dominic talking with
