Trip wrinkled his bushy brows as he sat in the hotel room, counting money with B.S. He was seated on the bed as B.S. occupied a nearby chair. Staring down at his phone with Baby’s message in view, Trip was dumbfounded to say the least.

Trip winkled his face at that. Tika came there looking for him? Why would she do something like that? He had informed her that he would be tied up for a couple of days, he didn’t give details and he didn’t even tell her he’d be out of town, a courtesy he had extended to Baby. But still, what the fuck did she go looking for him at the club for?

“Ayo, turn that down for a second.”

B.S. lowered the television and Trip turned up the volume on his phone. Normally, he wouldn’t entertain such, listening to a song from a girl seemed like some high school shit and it reminded him of Baby’s young age, but something in the tone of her message had Trip curious about exactly what she wanted to say to him. He clicked on the link and a screen with some lyrics popped up that read Tamar Braxton-Pieces . He hit the play button and slow music began to start. B.S. crinkled his brows in confusion and Trip only shrugged, slight annoyance to his expression, as he placed the phone near his ear even though the song played audibly.

He listened to the words with attentiveness as the girl began to sing downheartedly…
