We can’t afford to attach all our faith to another season, another people, and another time as this is the season in which we are alive and now is the time of harvest.

We hold the ear of the King, and we are His mouthpiece on the earth right now. We are indeed in a royal position of authority for such a time as now!

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14)

Now faith brings our hopes into reality and challenges us to believe for more and be stirred for miracles in our everyday current circumstances regardless of what we have seen or haven’t seen so far. Now faith doesn’t put off believing for increased breakthrough until another day or another generation, it takes ownership of now.

God is stirring us to activate the truth that faith that shifts mountains, takes out giants, and raises Lazarus situations from the grave is still available today. This kind of faith is accessed through our own voice, obedience, and action.

TRUST AND OBEY ENCOUNTER

A few months ago, I had a dream where I was hearing the old hymn, “Trust and Obey.” As I woke up, I was singing this song, and at the same time I heard an angel next to me singing it too. The angel was singing so beautifully. You may remember this hymn. I remembered it from growing up in the Salvation Army, but had not heard it for a long time. The lyrics include: “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey.” The words are so simple and true. The song got stuck in my head, and I knew God was speaking.

I researched a little and discovered that this hymn was written in 1886, inspired by a testimony at the well-known revival meetings with Dwight L. Moody in Brockton, Massachusetts. A man there was so touched by what God was doing as revival fire stirred his heart, he stood and shared a testimony saying, “‘I am not quite sure—but I am going to trust, and I am going to obey.” It clearly resonated with the hearts of a generation who weren’t sure about a lot of things, but knew God was calling them back to His heart and the simple message of “trust and obey.” This hymn was based on the man’s testimony, put to music, and it went around the world igniting faith and became an anthem for that generation and beyond.

I knew that through this hymn was God emphasizing a point as can only happen when God organizes something. We were driving to Massachusetts and preaching that night only a few miles from where the revival took place and the song was written. It also happened to be my first time back to that part of the country in eight years.
