Batman lands on his foe. The Joker is knocked flat on his jeering face. The impact jars the stage and it shudders beneath their feet. The banner behind them falls onto the crowd. The onlookers gasp — then they cheer!

“Hohoho! They think this is a show!” the Joker says. “I’ll give them a performance they won’t forget!”

The Joker squirms out of Batman’s grasp and slides down the side of the stage. The crowd steps back to give him room to land. The Joker takes a bow before throwing a handful of exploding marbles at the base of the stage.

BLAAAM! BLAAAM! The stage supports crumble, and it starts to topple.

Batman launches a length of Batrope. It snakes out and wraps around a nearby pillar. Another Batrope snares a second pillar. There’s nothing to stop the stage as it teeters toward the stunned crowd — nothing except Batman.

The Dark Knight grips both ropes in one fist as he slides down the side of the stage.

He hits the floor hard but doesn’t let go as he rolls under the belly of the massive stage. When he reaches the other side, he fires a third Batrope into the ceiling struts.

“Up, up, and away,” Batman says as he soars toward the steel framework.

The Dark Knight attaches the cradle of ropes to the supports as the stage display finally falls — and stops! Batman pulls on the ropes, adding the strength of his muscles to halt the disaster.

“Wow! Who is that guy? He’s the greatest!” the guests exclaim.

“Heeheehee! We haven’t reached the final act of this drama!” the Joker howls. He runs across the tops of tables filled with contest trophies.

A bolo whirls through the air and wraps around the fleeing felon’s ankles.

“Looks like we have a winner!” Batman states from above.

The Dark Knight slowly descends from the shadowy realm of the convention hall ceiling.

The crowd cheers loudly at his appearance.

The Joker struggles to his feet and tries to flee. His ankles are bound by the Bat-bolo, so he hops toward the nearest exit. He does not get far.
