Butterscotch-Spice Sweet Potatoes

Prepare sweet potatoes as directed in step 1. In step 2, instead of maple-cranberry syrup, prepare butterscotch-spice syrup: In 1-quart saucepan, combine ½ cup packed brown sugar, 3 tablespoons butter (no substitutions), 2 tablespoons water, 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, ¼ teaspoon salt, and ⅛ teaspoon cayenne (ground red) pepper. Heat to boiling, stirring until smooth. Complete recipe as in steps 3 and 4, spooning butterscotch-spice syrup over potatoes before baking.

Each serving: About 210 calories, 2g protein, 43g carbohydrate, 4g total fat (2g saturated), 4g fiber, 175mg sodium
