“When? How the hell? Does Rodney know he’s going to be a father?” Tara bombarded me with questions after sitting down at the diner. Neither of us had time to see one another lately so we planned this day.

“First off, Ezekiel is the dad and fuck Rodney.”

“Ezekiel? Girl you have to be about five months already. Your stomach is out there.”

The day Ezekiel’s mom offered me the drink, I’ve been having one for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can attest to the fact my stomach had grown quite a bit in that short time. One would think I’m further in the pregnancy than I am, but I’m not.

I did enjoy seeing Ezekiel everyday now and surprisingly my mom adores him. She couldn’t stand Rodney and often voiced how I should have Ezekiel get rid of him. Of course that would never be an option because at one point, we did love each other. Then again, I’m not sure it was love either.

Anyway, Ezekiel took me to his home and this time gave me a tour. It’s on at least a hundred acres and had twelve bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room, living and family room as well as a man cave downstairs and some sort of potion room. I was shocked he showed it but after hearing about someone trying to hurt him, I understood why he had to make as many as possible in case anyone tried to kill him.

Even though it would take a few older people, or elders as he called them, it would take a lot more to even leave a scar on him. However, like he said, one can never be too sure about the dangers lurking. He’ll always be ready for whatever comes his way.

He did mention once others find out about the kids, they’ll be happy and offer any and everything. I do have to be careful on what’s being accepted because even vampires are jealous and hateful.

“I wasn’t sure humans could get pregnant by them.” I said, taking a bite of the burger one of the waitresses placed in front of me.

Ezekiel explained that since he was a hybrid and part human, his sperm was still capable to produce children. He never saw himself being a father or with a human; hence the reason he hadn’t had sex with one before me.

“I told you, he was one of them. You didn’t want to believe me.” She had to remind me.

“Anyway, what’s going on with you and Deray?” Changing the subject, I shifted the conversation on her.

“I like him a lot but he loves to have sex with different women.” She shrugged with a disappointing face.

“Well, Ezekiel’s sister, Selene is throwing me a baby shower next month. Maybe you can find a new man there.”

“I guess.” She and I continued discussing the babies and how she wants to be the Godmother. A few times it felt as if someone was watching us but whenever I turned, no one seemed to be paying us any mind.
