Kyle

It was like his whole life had done a 180. Kyle had gone from being miserable to the happiest he’d ever been.

He would be lying to himself if he said he didn’t still have nightmares about his days in the old omega breeding facility, but recently they were few and far between. They had diminished when King Killian had the site torn down and rebuilt. He had even invited Kyle to watch the demolition take place, as a way to come to peace with the situation.

But everything was different now. He had his own home, not cramped quarters with other omegas who were only useful as breeding stock. He shuddered and forced the bad memories out of his mind. He wanted to focus on the good. Like his baby.

My baby, he thought with a sharp sensation of giddiness. It was still too early in his pregnancy to feel any sort of kicking or even morning sickness, but Kyle thought he might just make up for that with the excitement and anxiety.

A million thoughts raced through his mind. What would they name the baby? What would their first word be? What would they look like? More like Stark, or more like Kyle?

Kyle was lost in his fantasies when a knock came at his door. He leapt to his feet and opened it to let Stark in. Stark rushed forward, scooped him up and lifted him off his feet.

Kyle laughed. “Hey! It’s too early to be flying around.”

“Sorry,” Stark said with a grin. “I just get so happy when I see you. I can’t contain myself.”

Kyle beamed and before he knew it he was giggling too. It was like a well of happiness had burst inside him ever since he bumped into Stark at the department store. A whole year he’d waited for this, and now it was finally real. A dream come true.

“We should do something to celebrate,” Stark said as he lowered Kyle gingerly back to the floor. “I know it’s a little late since, well… you’re already pregnant and everything, but I would love to go on a date with you.”

Kyle blushed. “A date?”

“Yep. Just you and me.” Stark smiled, looking embarrassed. “No Chase this time.”

Kyle playfully rolled his eyes. “Oh, good.” He chuckled and then sighed. “I hope he’s doing alright. Did you at least let him down easy?”

“Of course. He’ll be okay, he’s a strong willed guy,” Stark said. “Besides, I have a feeling it won’t be long before some alpha comes by and scoops him up. Speaking of scooping someone up…”

Kyle gasped and giggled as Stark picked him up under the armpits and snuggled him into the bed. At first the alpha’s kisses were playful, but within moments they had turned more tender and sensual. Stark slipped a hand down Kyle’s chest and over his stomach, letting it rest there.

“What are you doing?” Kyle mumbled.

“Nothing,” Stark said. “Just enjoying my time with you.”

“I see.” Kyle closed his eyes and leaned back against the pillow. “Take your time, then.
