Malcolm

The much anticipated day of the reunion had finally arrived, and I can't lie, your boy was pumped to the max. My lining was crispier that a bag of baked Lay's potato chips. I had on my Ralph Lauren purple label blazer with my Michael Kors t-shirt, True Religion jeans, and to top it off, I was rocking my red suede Retro Jordan 5s. I knew I had gone over my spending limit on my Capital One Master Card, but I refused to let the fellas see me dressed like a bum after all that time. I was looking good, smelling good, and all the recent stress I was dealing with was the furthest thing from my mind. It felt pretty good too.

The first familiar face I ran across was my boy Wes. I greeted him with a handshake and a heartfelt hug. "What's good wigiddy Wes from the west side? Boy, you look like a fish out of water in a suit and tie, homie. I remember back in the day, you were notorious for rocking that hot ass Michael Jackson 'Beat It' leather jacket with the zippers and those slip and slide penny loafers. And don't get me started on the Stoney Jackson 'S' curl. Bro, I swear on my kids' head, you kept that curl up from freshman to junior year. That was your official trademark and couldn't nobody tell you that you wasn't fly."

Wes slapped his knee as he cracked up about my impromptu trip down memory lane. But as I expected, he swiftly clapped back with his own list of embarrassing moments involving me. "Yeah! The 'S' curl was a bit too much, but we all go through our hair phases. Like, prime example, when you had your little baby ‘fro action going and it got just long enough to braid. Boy, your ass thought you had butters and let your next door neighbor, Aisha, perm your hair for you. Man, Mac, you had the super slick back popping. I'm surprised your ass didn't get finger waves in that joint.

“I was dying on the inside when you brought your black ass to school with the super straight white boy hair looking like a black ass Christian Slater. But the killer part is you thought you was doing it so hard. Man, fam’, couldn't nobody tell you that you that you wasn't getting your Superfly Ron O'Neil on. I'm talking about your ass thought you were Max Julien the Mack. That's until Jared started heating your ass up in the lunchroom in front of everybody. I don't remember everything he said, but I know the nail in the coffin was when he said it looked like a litter of kittens had been licking your head in your sleep. I almost fell out my damn seat I was laughing so hard.

“Oh! Oh! Remember that time you went through your wanna-be thug stage? I remember sophomore year you thought you were so hardcore because you was walking around with that American flag bandana around your head.
